His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, inaugurated on Wednesday, January 11, the 'Al Ain Aerobatic Show 2006' held under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, in presence of HH Sheikh Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan and HH Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Show.

Al Ain Aerobatic Show 2006 - A wonderful combination of solo and formation displays.
The total number of visitors during the show surpassed 125,000. Visitors were from all age groups, and they came from all the Emirates, GCC countries and the entire world, and many families also came to enjoy the stunning performances.

The world's best aerobatic pilots and teams offered a series of mind-blowing solo and formation performances. The Russian Knights were named the best jet formation team on Monday at the FAI World Grand Prix No 23 on the closing day of the Al Ain Aerobatic Show 2006. The Royal Jordanian Falcons won top position in the propeller formation category of the competition, while Lithuanian pilot Jurgis Kairys took the 2006 Al Ain Freestyle Aerobatic Trophy.

Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, distributed trophies to the winning teams and solo pilots at the end of the show. The honouring ceremony was also attended by senior civil and military officials.
