The 3rd Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship 2006 (DIAHC) held under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Hamadan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Industry. DIAHC saw some of the best-kept horses from around the world at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. More than 295 competitors had participated and it was a 25% increase over the last year event.

Zaid Galadari, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee said: "This year's event was something quite spectular and it is clear that it will just get bigger and better on comming years. Compititors came from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya, Netherlands, Oman, Qatar, spain, UK and the UAE.

The prizes were worth $600,000 (Dh 2.2 million). ECAHO classes prize value was $180,000 (Dh 662,040) and for the ECAHO Championship the prize was $320,000 (Dh 1.1 million). Luxury cars and valuable watches were presented to the winners.
